Album Review: Zeno By Muzi

Muzi -Zeno
After the success of his EP's and Albums. Muzi is back with his third album titled Zeno.

Zeno was recorded and mostly produced here in South Africa. Zeno features artists such as Sumthing Soweto, Espacio Dios, Black Rose and Zithulele. Leading the new school of musicians Muzi has managed to infuse his Traditional Zulu influence into the album.  Genres such as Maskandi, Kwaito and South African Pop Music.

My fav tracks on the album have to be Phuma ( Bad Self), A Day in Paris, Sunshine and Good Vibes Only.  Muzi has successfully been able to be in his own lane for the past few years. Touring locally and performing on international stages. The influence he has in the music industry is growing and we are all here for it. This album is definitely going to be a favourite with his local fans and international fan base.

Hot Girl Summer South African Style

We have heard quite a number of hits and misses during the year for music. Some artists have  been able to find their sound. Some artists lost their sound due to record label shenanigans, but all is not lost they were able to pick themselves up.

Look nobody trying to lecture ya'll about the music industry , but what I'm trying to tell you It's about to get Heated!

We had Rouge give us a summer banger named Popular feat Emtee. We had the banger Shesha by De Mthuda. Which already should tell you how hot this Spring/Summer is going to be. The season of Amapiano took a strong hit and providing a good challenge to the Gqom genre.

Hot Girl Summer Season is upon us and be prepared music lovers. We are about to feel the fire of music. I'm personally looking forward to new music by AKA. Who for one has been giving us banger snippets on social media. Emtee who has recently left Ambitious could be giving us a album. Rumor has it if you think Avery was a Classic be prepared to love his new release too.

J.Molley, Gemini Major, RickyRick, De Mthuda , Something Soweto, KO (Mr Cashtime) , ManuWorldstar the list goes on and on.

South African genres Amapiano, Gqom and Local Hip Hop are about to make us dance till the sun comes up.

New Album Review : @RalfGUM - Progressions

A man that needs no introduction to the house music world. A man who has mastered the rhythmic elements of the godly world of House Music. German born and South African based DJ Ralf Gum has released his 4th studio album  which is  titled Progressions. Featuring all stars such as Monique Bingham, Mafikizolo ,  Ayanda Jiya , Bongi Mvuyana , Paul Randolph , Lady Alma , Tony Momrelle , Portia Monique , Joseph Junior and Kafele.

Progressions is a breath of fresh air , more especially when Amapiano is now widely popular and being played. I listened to this album thoroughly and enjoyed every beat , sang along to almost all the choruses.

"Progressions is  a soul-soothing music album with meaningful messages "  - Ralf Gum

Progressions will be followed up by a worldwide tour which includes South Africa , North America and United Kingdom. The album is available on all major music streaming services. Check it out on the link below. Feel free to comment on how you feel about the album.

EP  Review : Magic Moves by @Zwesta_DJ

South African bred DJ Zwesta and House Producer has released a brand new EP titled Magic Moves.
DJ Zwesta has been dj'ing across the city of Johannesburg making a name for himself.  Magic Moves features 7 tracks mixed with African sound beats and melodious elements.

I asked the DJ a couple of questions regarding his latest release and here is what he had to say below.

What does the title of the album reveal and why did you name it Magic Moves ?
I named it Magic Moves because I felt that my sound is unique and is for the future. So I am making magic moves. Moves that I believe I can do.

How long did it take you to make this album and What inspired it?
It took me a year. Some tracks took me a month but others took me like a year to finish. I had to choose from 20 exclusive tracks down to the best 7. What inspired me was the growth in my music production and I was ready for the world to hear. It's different from my previous EP and singles I've released before. Magic Moves is me finally finding my sound.

Are you pleased with the Outcome of the EP ?
I am blessed with it and I have been getting positive feedback. Even online Radio Stations Internationally are recognizing my music and have play listed my songs.

Who are your influences music wise?
My influences are Black Coffee , Shimza , Kquesol and Ed-Ward. Besides their success I love how they respect their craft and how passionate they are. They do things differently and they are always ahead. Which is something I really love and want to see for myself doing more and better.

Which musician would you like to collaborate with next?
I'd like to work with Busiswa, Bucie , Maphorisa , Black Coffee , Professor and any dope local vocalist that is willing to work and is passionate about music.

Magic Moves is out and available for all house music lovers on all major music streaming services. Stream and download on the link below .

Album Review : ( Re-Release ) : Timhamba by Mzee & Rafiki  @Rafiki_sa @IamMzilikazi

If house was a nation I wanna be president! Famous line from the track President House( When you know you know).

Timhamba (Xitsonga for ‘Ancestral Rituals’) by Mzee & Rafiki is a Pan African  Album and its everything about tribal house music and Africa.  This re-release had to be done more especially at a time where African music is at its pinnacle. This 25 Track Double Album celebrates African languages and the duo has mastered different elements of African music. These collaborations  are not only legendary but it touches the root of African Music, offers originality, uniqueness and  continental unity.

This epic project joined artists from over 10 countries, with different languages collaborating together to make beautiful music. The Album features some of the biggest musicans in Africa including Uhuru, Kani , Alino , Jorgen Stenberg , Brenda Mtambo, the Legend Salif Keita , The Mansa of Mali and Hishishi. The album features many more talented African musicians as well.

Mzee explains We are modern-day musical anthropologists who are reflecting the continent’s cultural identity through tribal sounds. House music is essentially about dance, but we use it as a medium through which positive messages are transmitted,”

I look forward to listening to their new music as they have a lot to offer and we need to be motivated to go back to our roots and connect. The album is available all all major music streaming services. Check out the link below:

New Album Alert : @Simmymusicsa - Tugela Fairy

Simmy has released her debut album titled Tugela Fairy - The lovely songstress who is also signed to Sun EL Musician's label ELMusic World. Simmy is a  songwriter and singer who found her big break being featured on some of Sun EL Musician's hit  singles Sonini and Ntaba Ezikude.

Simmy is  a young, driven musician who growing up was inspired by different genres of music more especially old school music from Maskandi , Soul Brothers and  Brenda Fassie.  Simmy has described her music as being very dreamy , emotional and inspiring.

My fav songs on the album is Ubala, Umahlalela and Ngiyesaba. Her anticipated debut blends club rhythms and summery Afropop. If you are into Afropop House Music you will definitely enjoy this well put album. The album is available on all major digital streaming platforms. Stream the album on the below link.
